Division of Cardiac Surgery
Cardiac surgeons specialize in the surgical treatment of congenital and acquired heart diseases. Based on the needs of individual patients, they perform minimally invasive surgery such as off-pump CABG or right mini-thoracotomy whenever possible. And they started Transcatheter Aortic Valve Inplantation(TAVI). They must respond to the emergency situations such as acute aortic dissection, at any time.
Vascular surgeons specialize in open and endovascular procedures for a range of vascular problems, including aortic, arterial, venous, and lymphatic diseases.
Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery
This Division’s surgery includes esophageal surgery, gastric surgery, and colorectal surgery. We perform mediastinoscope-assisted transhiatal esophagectomy for esophageal cancer. Early gastric cancer and colorectal cancer are treated with lapaloscopic surgery.
Division of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and Liver transplantation
This Division’s surgery includes liver surgery, biliary surgery, pancreatic surgery, and liver transplantation. We perform extended hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery with vascular resection and reconstruction as a multimodal treatment to improve surgical outcome. We also perform laparoscopic liver resection for HCC and metastatic liver cancer. The outcome of our HBP surgery is very good and well recognized in this field in Japan. We have already started and completed liver transplantation for several clases as a treatment for liverfailure.
Division of Breast and Endocrine Surgery
70％ of patients are treated with partial mastectomy. We developed CT-lymphography technique to detect sentinel lymph nodes. If cancer cells are not found in SNL, it may not be necessary to remove more lymph nodes.
Division of Chest Surgery
Chest surgeons specialize in the surgical treatment of benign and malignant lung and mediastinal diseases. They have used video-assisted surgery early on and are well up on.
Division of Pediatric Surgery
Pediatric surgeons specialize in the surgical treatment of children, from neonates to adolescents, and must work closely with pediatricians.
Division of surgical oncology
We intend to treat cance patients with individualized therapy using genomic diagnosis. Multidisciplinary treatment using chemo-radiotherapy is applied to advanced esophageal cancer. We perform a variety of clinical trials using new combination of ACAs or new durgs.
Cancer antigen-derived peptide-based immunotherapy is applied to recuurent pancereatic, colo-rectal and gastric cancer.
